擎天崗

I took Wilson and Eric to attand an astrology camp in August. We went to 擎天崗 to tour the natural world. We were there to see stars in the evening. Due to weather condition, we were not able to see anything from the sky. The wind was very gusty and we were staying within very dense fog for quite a while.

Visit Guam

Our family and Wu's family went to Guam from July 28 to August 2nd. We went to PIC, ABC Beach Club, sight-seeing, and of course, shopping in K-mart and Ross. Swimming in the sea was fun. We also saw quite a few dolphins on our boat ride.

Wilson Wins the First Prize of Speech Contest

Wilson won the first prize of an English speech contest on Sunday. He got the award from the Mayor, Mr. Hsieh Sheng-Shan. His schoolmates and teachers were crazy for his accomplishments.

Raising Fish

We bought a fish tank in April-the first one in the family made of glass. Kids have been very excited. We also bought the "first school" of fish (7 of them) at that time. Ater a week's trial and error, only one of them survived. We bought another school of fish yesterday to join the lonely fish. (There are some shrimps as well and their job is to clean the environment. ) Hoping they will live longer this time.

Alumni reunion at National Chiao-Tung University

I attended a reunion party on April 15, 2007 after I was graduated 20 years. Want to see some faces of my old friends and teachers at National Chiao-Tung University? Here is the blog of my class-TEM 76 of NCTU

Raising Tadpoles

Recently, my family went to Chi-Nan Forest Resort (池南, see the picture) and caught some tadpoles. We decided to raise them in a small pet container. It was amazing to see how they grow. Little by little, their rear feet emerged and then their front feet followed. They stopped to eat bread (we fed them with bread when they were pure tadpoles) and we had no idea how to take care them. Finally we decided to send them to a water front and set them free. Hopefully they all have a happy life in their new places.

My Family

On the Christmas day of 1994, I was luckily enough to marry to Vivian, a cute lovely lady who I first met in Miami in summer 1993. Wilson, my first child, was born in 1996 in College Station, Texas. Eric, my second child joined our family in 1999, and he was also born as a cow boy.

I finished my PhD in 2001 and moved to Dallas/Fort Worth where I worked at Sabre Inc (The division I worked was transitioned to American Airlines soon after I joined them.) I switched my career to academia in 2002 and joined Cornell University as a postdoctoral associate. One year later, I became a faculty in the business school of Ithaca College. After enjoying the beautiful snow, blizzard winters and nice summers, my family and I decided to move back to Taiwan in 2004, and I joined the College of Management of National Dong Hwa University as a faculty member until now.

Vivian got her master degree in Miami (that's why I first met her there). She speaks fluent English and taught English to kids from time to time. She now also works at National Dong Hwa University at the College of Science and Engineering for administrative duties.
